Refund Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

1. Try before you buy

Virtual Diary is free to download and try on iPad and Mac. You only pay if you choose to unlock the full diary, so you can see whether it suits you first.

2. iPad: refunds are handled by Apple

iPad purchases are made through the App Store, so Apple processes every iPad payment and refund. We cannot issue refunds or see your payment details ourselves.

To request a refund:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
  2. Choose “Request a refund” and select the reason.
  3. Select the Virtual Diary purchase and submit.

Apple reviews each request under its own policies and timelines. You can also follow Apple’s guide at support.apple.com/118223.

3. Mac and bundle: purchases are final

Because you can write your first page free before paying, Mac and iPad + Mac bundle purchases made on this website are final and not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

A Mac license unlocks one Mac. If that Mac is lost, stolen or replaced, buy a new license for the new one. Your diary is not lost with it: it comes back through iCloud sync, or by importing an export you kept.

If checkout charged you twice, or failed to deliver your license key or iPad code, email support@virtualdiary.app with the email address used at checkout and we will put it right.

4. After an Apple refund

If Apple refunds an iPad purchase, the unlock is removed and the app returns to its free state. It does not delete your diary. Your entries stay on your device, and you can still export them.

5. Something went wrong?

If the unlock did not apply or disappeared, try Settings → Restore Purchase on iPad, or paste your license key again in Settings on Mac. If that does not help, email support@virtualdiary.app and we will help. We aim to reply within two business days.
